After lunch we met up with some friends to go see the bald eagles that migrate every year to Fairfield. We have done this several times before and it never ceases to amaze me. These magnificent raptors migrate to this same location year after year. I am not sure where they come from although my husband heard it was from Alaska. There are both adults and juveniles that roost in the same trees all through the winter months. In years past we have seen 8-10 eagles perched in the trees at a time. Unfortunately this year, we only saw a few but the kids were still entertained by several horses that were eager for a snack of dried grass.
It was a beautiful day! See the two tiny spots in the sky? Eagles
My pictures of the eagles didn't turn out very good. This is a juvenile because it doesn't have the white head.
An adult bald eagle - again, very poor quality
Cute girls!
There was this weird albino looking horse - interesting!
We finished off the day with a fun dinner at Porter's Place. We hadn't been there for years so that brought back some memories! Thanks for a great day guys!
