We have something pretty grand planned next week to celebrate our fifteenth anniversary so on the actual day we kept it pretty low-key. We decided at the last minute to have dinner at a restaurant that we have been wanting to try for a long time - The Communal.
It definitely did not disappoint! We sat enjoying the lovely ambiance and our yummy food, eyeing another table that seemed to be getting some sort of special treatment. At first we thought maybe they were restaurant critics but then figured out they were also celebrating their anniversary! We asked the waiter about it and he told us they were celebrating their 10 year. We then informed him that we were celebrating our 15 year! After that we were served a special cheese plate and a dessert - compliments of the chef.
The food was wonderful and mostly served family-style so there was a lot of variety. The interior was done by my friend with perfect taste - Susannah - so it is...perfectly tasteful. And our waiter was very charming. We had such a pleasant evening!
Here are some pictures I have stolen from other places...
This was probably one of my favorite dishes.
We can't wait to try it out for lunch!

So that is why I had to reschedule Akoy's 9 month appointment! :) I hope you guys have fun! Congrats on 15 years!
To me, the best night out with my honey is one where we are eating great food together! Congrats Emily! 15 years is fantastic! FYI- I would LOVE to do face painting at parties! I'd give a major discount since I'm just starting out. . . thanks for following my blog. I love yours!
That is a nice place. The owners are friends of Charlotte and Rob's. Your interior friend must have worked with my bestest friend Leslie. Small UT world.
Oh, and. . . happy anniversary! How can you have been married 15 years?
Love the blog header. Sorry I never did complete my homework assignment to design one for you. I do have sketches, which I hope for you to see some day. . .
Happy happy happy happy 15th. Glad you got treated right. I love the decor at Communal. Susannah did an AMAZING job. I want her to come and design my house!
