Millions and Billions and Trillions of Leaves.

The first reason we fell in love with our house was because it is surrounded by trees. Anyone who has trees in their yard knows that can be a good thing and a bad thing. Two times a year we (well, I guess I should say "Daddy") have to deal with some major messes due to the trees. In the spring there is about 3 weeks of non-stop cotton floating in the air. As magical as it is for the kids - "it's snowing in June!" "it's like living in a snow globe!" - it is a huge pain to clean up. And it kind of prevents any outdoor eating unless you want fluff in your food. The second time of year is now - the fall. The leaves. Again, the kids enjoy them for a while but then the real work starts when (and I definitely can't say "we" here) Dad cleans out the gutters, rakes, piles, blows, bags, and trashes millions of leaves.
Here is a small glimpse at the leaf piles - I started taking pictures way too late.

This is the tail end of the huge job that took half the day.

And there are still leaves on the trees...
