Worth Watching...

This movie is only playing at the Broadway Theater in Salt Lake. But it was very interesting and definitely worth watching. It is a sort of documentary following four babies from four different countries through their first year of life - America, Japan, Mongolia and Namibia, Africa. There is no dialogue - only footage of the four babies growing and developing in very different settings. Watching the baby from Africa crawling around in the dust and chewing on bones and rocks, I didn't feel so bad about Sarah Jane gnawing on the back of the seat in front of us. Somehow babies survive and at least for the first year, develop the same no matter where they are raised.

Here is a link to the trailer:

(Just be aware...I feel that the movie itself is appropriate for children. I took all of my kids down to SJ. They all enjoyed it. There are several scenes where the mothers are breastfeeding their babies and their breasts are fully exposed. That did not bother me. However, the previews before the movie are mostly for R rated movies and that made me a little uncomfortable.)
