Our newest addition:
Shakira!
She's a 5 foot long Red Tailed Boa Constrictor. Our neighbors are moving and needed to give her up. We never thought we would own a pet like this but when the opportunity presented itself we felt like we couldn't pass it up!

Very cool, except don't you have to feed it rodents? I'm good with snakes, but not rodents!
Geez! Your next child is a snake. We will come and visit, but don't offer it to us.
You are very brave. Don't you know that song about the boa constrictor?
Ha! You might be interested to know that just last week Darren treated a lady who was bitten by her pet boa constrictor. He "constricted" himself around her arm tightly and wouldn't let go, and they were getting concerned about the lack of circulation in her arm. So they dunked her arm and the snake in ice water and apparently that shocked him enough to do the trick! Darren didn't have the brilliant ice water idea- he just treated the bite at the hospital.
You are a brave mom! I think it's cool though. Your kids are going to love it! What is his name?
Sorry, I just noticed that your snake is a SHE, and her name is Shakira. Very pretty!
Awesome! I'll have to bring my boys over for a visit. Nicole has a FIRM, no snake policy in our house. By the way, she's got to be at least 6 feet!
What a fun, exotic pet! Keep it away from any pet mice or rats that you might have around the house. :-)
Holy moly. That's a big snake.
