Fun With Friends and a Pop-up

Here we are getting ready to pull out of the driveway to use our pop-up trailer for the very first time since we bought it last year (Wes and the kids slept in it while it was parked in the driveway but that doesn't count). Off for five days of camping with some great friends!

Setting up a trailer always requires some leveling...

Relaxing after our spaghetti dinner

It was amazing how the kids in the absence of computers, television, video games, and the comforts of home - could always find something to do. Like make mice out of pinecones.

The littlest three

The big kids loved playing card games - Muggins, Blink and Pit were a few of the favorites.

We spent one day at the lake fishing

...and canoeing

Here is our one catch of the day!

One day was spent fashioning a squirrel trap out of a cardboard box. They patiently and quietly waited.

They caught one!

The braids come out

We also took a day trip to Cascade Springs. Lovely as always.

We came home tired, dirty and smelling like smoke - but we all had the best time ever! And the pop-up was a huge success! I will admit that I was skeptical when Wes wanted to buy it. But we had running hot and cold water, lights and a heater that switched on at night. It was awesome!

I need to talk to you about your fishing license. Yearly? One-day?

Love the tie-dye shirts. Did you guys make them?

Where did you guy's get the pop-up? I think one of those would be so great. I am dying to go camping this year. Looks like a blast.

Now that's my kind of camping! Once again...Loved the photos. Especially the one of Wes with fish.

Witnessing the children create pine cone mice would've been my testament to a successful camping trip! Their imaginations had the freedom to take over, when not inundated by outside stimuli like TV and computer games - as always, the photos are lovely. Cate looks adorable with the loosely unbraided hair!
