One week to the big day! I have had my decor up for a while but I wanted to post the pictures. It will be fun to look back to get ideas for next year. You will have to humor me as I give my two cents about my attempts at decorating. I think I only inherited about 60% of my parent's natural artistic talent. The rest of what I do just comes from being a copy-cat!
The mantle. When Addie was a toddler, we took a trip to New York City during the holiday season. We visited the very cool store, ABC Home and were delighted to find their Christmas decor on sale. We bought some very pretty, but different purple glass glittered balls and since that time I bought some Christmas stockings to match. So with the stockings and the balls I have kind of a purple/gold/green theme going on. I found some really neat green balls this year to match.
I am so happy with two little, inexpensive purchases I made this year to add to my Christmas decorations. First was a small box of these yellow/gold jewel ornaments. I love these! I used some on my tree and hung some from my chandelier. I really, really wish I would have bought more! The second thing was a box of gold themed ornaments from Ikea. I loved the gold balls and used them all over my house but what I really was excited about were these glittered stars! They add that magical sparkle which is what I love at Christmas.
Not that I really wanted to bring more attention to my not so pretty dining room chandelier - this is what I decided to do in the dining room. Hanging displays really appeal to me for some reason.
This Santa was given to me for Christmas by my parents a few years ago. I think it is beautiful and probably something I wouldn't have bought for myself. It is sort of a natural-type Santa with a walking stick and animals all around - like he's going on a hike! I placed it on my entry table.
A few more shots.

I love seeing your decs. They look great! It is fun to finally have some space and money to decorate. I will have to email you some of our decorations- I just emailed them to my mom. I was glad to see your decoration with the gold and silver ornaments in a clear vase. I saw that at someone else's home and was trying to describe it to Darren, and he seemed slightly un impressed. :) I can't wait to show him the picture on your blog! We got your Christmas card- you look great! Have a Merry Christmas! BTW, it is likely we will be in Utah in April, and possibly this summer. We would love to see you. Maybe in the summer we could see who is there and have a Hershey reunion????
Your home looks so beautiful, Em!
Happy Holidays!

Those trims are beautiful! There is a "home show" of sorts on several blogs that are showing their homes with holiday trim. Yours is top-notch.
