We finally put up our tree. I am sad to admit that this might be the last year we will have a fresh tree. Wes has almost convinced me into buying an artificial one - but of course, we have to wait until after Christmas when they are on sale. I really do love having a fresh tree but I really hate the cost and having to put the lights on it. However, from what I hear, assembling an artificial tree every year isn't a cake walk either. Oh well - at least the tree is up and decorated.
This is what Sarah Jane likes to do with the ornaments
Continuing a tradition from my childhood, we give a new ornament to each child every Christmas. This is what they received this year: (Addie is really into frogs right now!)
A robot for Isaac
A spinning merry-go-round for sister Cate
The baby received a little wooden penguin - too late to get a picture
Here's the finished product
This little crystal droplet has been my favorite ornament ever since I can remember. It is only about the size of a dime but it really sparkles in the lights.
News Flash - After Wes read my post and we discussed it further - we've changed our minds! We will continue our tradition of buying fresh trees!

I love your tree! It is so beautiful. Your ornaments are darling. Don't forget to get a photo of SJ with hers!
Okay, Ruby just told me that her friend's mom has a fake tree, but she wants the smell of a fresh one, so she bought smelly candles. Just don't try to fake the smell. Promise me.
Oh so pretty, and I am glad you will keep getting a "real" tree. They are so much prettier, and Baums has decent prices.
What a beautiful tree!!
Beautiful! Love the ornament tradition too. My mom did this with me and my siblings growing up, but I haven't done it with my own kids. You're making me want to start....even if late.
