Gift Idea

I was caught off guard last year when we started receiving nice gifts from the partners at the office (and Wes wasn't even a partner yet!). We were short on time and cash so in return we gave each one a pineapple - wrapped up all cute with cellophane and festive ribbon. But still - just a pineapple! So now that Wes is an official partner, I felt some pressure deciding what to do for gifts. This is what I came up with and I think it turned out pretty cute.

I found some Christmas bowls at TaiPan Trading Company and decided to fill them with the makings of a holiday salad. Each bowl included a recipe, a pear, a pomegranate, a little bag of homemade sugared pecans, some salad tongs, and some homemade salad dressing. The trickiest part was finding the bottles - but after a couple of trips to DI, I ended up with a nice variety.

Scratch that off the list!

Oh, my gosh! They are gorgeous. I'm really not in a festive mood this year but if I were I would be stealing that idea so fast. As it is this will go into my "Christmas" file (yes I have one) for next years neighbor gift.

I love this idea! I can't believe all of the great things you've already done this Christmas. I was lucky just to get my cards out. Any chance you'll be posting the recipe for the salad? It sounds like it would be so good!

That is such a good idea...people get so much candy, etc. Clever, clever lady.

FYI...Ikea has great bottles for dressing (our DI doesn't have good stuff like that..as you know) but you can get it very cheap...

I love the pinapple idea.

How do you fit all that creativity in your head.... you amaze me.

Bek,
I know exactly the bottles you are referring to at Ikea. I went there and they were sold out. I had to go to plan B. BTW - the pineapple idea actually came from Design Mom last year...I wish I was as clever.
