Ok all you PC users! (Sorry macs but I'm afraid my husband just won't convert...)
I have a question! What software/websites do you use to store and edit your photos? I am talking like basic stuff - red eye, auto improvements, etc. Not real technical. It has to be easy and fast. And the idea of uploading all my photos to a website doesn't appeal to me. I used Windows Photo Gallery (which basically does nothing) until we installed Windows 7 which doesn't include this software.
Help? Anyone?

Your photos from this blog are stored on the Picasa website. They have photo editing that is supposedly very good.
you can download picassa to your computer and it acts just like windows photo live (or whatever that one is called). I used picassa on my old PC that did not come with a photo software. It is east to use. Call me if you want help. I can come over tomorrow and help you with the process. I can't quite remember how I did it, but it would probably come back to me fast. Picassa is a freedown load because they hope you will love the software and then pay them money to use their web gallery services. Good luck!!
We use Picasa too and I love it. It has good basic editing features, uploads easily to blogger and even has some fun things like face recognition.
We use Light Room and unfortunately we save a hard copy on our external hard drive and a back up copy goes to a website called flickr. We've lost pictures before that we were unable to get back. Big Bummer. Mat got Light Room from somewhere. I'll have to remember to ask him where.
We did use Picassa at one point too, but found lightroom to have a little bit more to it.
We just use picassa and you can download a free version that is very decent. Good luck!
Picasa is a good, but very basic editing tool (run by Google). Flikr or Lightroom are good online methods, but lack a lot by way of organization tools. I use Photoshop Elements for editing and organizing. (it has an AMAZING organizer and you can do almost any editing you would ever want to do on regular pics). But there is a little bit of a learning curve when first using it. It's a pretty powerful program. I always back my pics up to an external hard drive. You can pick one up with a TON of memory for not very much $ these days. WELL worth it.
I should have mentioned - if you want to take the plunge to PSE, Costco has the best price around. And I have given classes on PSE basics a couple of times, I'd be happy to help you get it set up and send along my handouts. :)
