The Egg Collection

My Easter report (almost a week late!)

As I have mentioned in a previous post, my family has a tradition of decorating eggs. This tradition started several years before I was born but it is one that I have tried to continue with my own kids. Unfortunately we ran out of time to do our own decorating this year but we were delighted to find that my mom pulled out the old egg collection and had it on display for our family Easter dinner. It's really quite remarkable that the eggs have lasted this long (they are real blown-out eggs) - and I wanted to photograph them for the record. Check these out!
The collection (some of these eggs date back to the early 1970s) (Click on the picture to see the details):

These are some of the eggs my dad decorated:

These are some eggs that my mom decorated:

These are some that rest of us did:

After Wes and I married, he joined in the fun and we made a bride and groom:
The next year I made a nurse and he made a scientist (he had a flat-top at the time):
This is just a small sampling of the very large collection.

I am thrilled to finally have photographs of these little works of art!

Those eggs are simply amazing! I remember seeing them over the years, and admiring the artistic abilities of the Clarks. WOW! Your mom is the perfect display artist.
