It Wouldn't Be Christmas at Our House Without...

The Traditional Advent Calendar With 24 Chocolate Treats - yep, we do these every year

The kids decorating this miniature tree that I bought at an estate sale in California. It came with the cutest little ornaments and garlands. And lights that used to work but now seem to have died.

Decorating gingerbread houses with Grandpa Dave and Connie
Decorating the banister with garland and lights - oops. I tried to skip out on this one but found that one of my children is very keen on this part of the Christmas decorations. I just may have to give in.
Bringing out the favorite Christmas books. We try to add a new one each year.
This year it was this beautiful version of The Gift of the Magi - by O.Henry, illustrated by Lisbeth Zwerger

We do the chocolates also. Our day doesn't start until they have eaten theirs. Very cute trees!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house. What fun! I hope all traces of illness are past now and you can enjoy the holiday.

Wow! Good job keeping up with so many traditions. It does make it fun, though. We get a new Christmas book every year too! Hannah loves, "Olive, the other reindeer."

We have those very calendars too. I love Christmas with kids. I love that kids get upset when you try to skip something. It means we are making good memories!
