We talked and talked, laughed, shopped, walked, ate, ate, and ate, slept a little and walked some more! It was a break from my busy mom life like I've never had. And it was fun beyond expectations!
The two girls in the painting reminded us of...us!
Times Square - after falafel for dinner and before Mary Poppins
Carnegie Deli - do you see the size of those pieces of pie?!
We saw Tina Fey shooting a scene for 30 rock on the Brooklyn Bridge
Our friend Julie joined us for an evening in the village - and we reminisced over dessert until 1:00 in the morning
A chance to sit and rest our weary site-seeing and shopping feet!
My first real exposure to Indian food was divine!
My last meal in the city? A Reuben sandwich. (As you can see - it was all about the food!)
We were serenaded on the subway by these two guys (who were singing for money). They were shocked when they heard we had 17 kids between us - and no, we didn't share one husband! We sang some James Taylor with them and as we left the subway, they said, "lets hear it for the housewifes!" and everybody clapped. It was pretty funny!
We had such a great time together and shared so many memories. My friend Anna has already put up two great posts about our trip if you want to see more. Thanks gals!
And what would I have done without my very capable and wonderful husband who stayed home to watch the kids? You want to hear all that he accomplished? He weaned SJ from her pacifier, he got Cate out of pull-ups and completely dry at night, slept out with the kids in our new pop-up tent trailer, took care of Isaac when he threw up 7 times that night, and he cleaned and organized his side of our closet - just to name a few things. I think I better take a few days off more often! Love ya Wes!

We were there on Friday! We were probably not too far away from you!!
I'm missing it so much already!! It was a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious weekend for sure. Thanks...I can't wait until we do this again (soon!).
What a great trip and a great husband! Glad you got to go. I've always wanted to be in NYC in the fall. We missed you at the luncheon.
Oh my, I was laughing all over again at the video. That was much fun. Let's hear it for the housewives is right!!!
Can't wait for the next getaway!
I LOVE NY! I am dying to get up there before we move -- it's only a 3-hour car ride.
And, seriously, Wes is making everyone else's husbands look bad. G has been out of pull-ups for a while (no point when he soaks through them every night anyway), but really doesn't stay dry with any consistency. Oh well, he just gets his sheets changed every other day -- lucky him!
I got hungry reading this! What a great break.
Oh! That looks like such a fun time. I feel like I need to go back and try those super secret places that only the locals know about. I'm wondering how Mary Poppins was. I can see Addie enjoying that if she were there (but she wasn't and that's why it was such a great girls trip). Medals to the husband who got his checklist done.
How fun! I am glad that you got to get away and be with friends. Looks like you all had a great time together. Wes is a great father.
Next time, you and Becca need to do a little singing on your own. It could be the dessert fund.
After talking to you on the phone, I had to look at your pictures- what fun!!
oh my, I love that city so much. I am so jealous! Good for you, I am always about the food on my trips. I loved hearing about what was going on at home, pretty impressive!
How exciting! NYC with your best girlfriends-- too much fun. I'm glad you had a wonderful little getaway!
What a great trip! I've always wanted to visit NYC.
I did zero in on the pacifier and the pull up deal--oh, I'm so jealous!
I'm also a little sad we missed you while in town. Next time...
