Mother's Day 2014

My dad was kind enough to host our Mother's Day dinner this year.  As much as we wanted to eat outside, it was too cold.  He was set up ready to go!
Wes made a very impressive fruit plate!
Homemade peach pies - it doesn't get any better than that!

The burnt rolls were the only mishap of the day.
Of course, Mother's Day will continue to be a bittersweet day for me and my family.  In order to remember my dear mother, I made these necklace pendants - one for each girl in the family.
And to make it even more special, my dad gave each daughter a piece of my mother's jewelry.  This is Amy wearing the pendant I made along with the necklace that belonged to my mother.
I vividly remember my mother wearing this elephant carved from ivory.  She gave me a tiny ivory elephant that I wore on a necklace when I was a little girl.
