We discussed this trip idea with our friends several months ago but it wasn't until we found the Red Mountain Home that the travel plans started to take shape. Take a look at more pictures here and you will see why we were so excited about it (private pool!). It was only after we had made our reservation that I discovered that the home belongs to the in-laws of a good friend from high school! Small world!
And did I mention we were traveling with 4 adults and 11 kids?

A gorgeous place. How close is it to civilization? Can you run to the store, or do you need to bring in all that you need?
The home is located in Kanab which is a pretty small town. But there are a couple of grocery stores, gas stations, a Wendy's and a McDonalds, etc. so it's not like you are that remote. There were also a couple of restuarants I wish we could have tried. The nice thing about staying in Kanab is that it is very central to many things. About one hour from The Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Zion, Bryce, Escalante, etc. I would recommend these accomodations to anyone who is interested.
