Come and support a worthy cause! A couple of years ago my friend Anna invited us to join an action group called "One Heart." Originally, the group was focused on projects involving microcredit and we raised $3,000 to start a village bank in El Salvador through HELP International. This village bank is providing small business loans to individuals so they can support themselves and rise above the level of poverty that exists in their community. You can read the profiles of loan recipients on the website. I highly recommend watching the documentary "Small Fortunes" (located at the bottom of the website) to learn more about the principles of microfinance. This year, we have changed focus just a little and currently are raising funds to support the Clara Fantasia Orphanage in Guatemala. Please read more about this orphanage here.
