Isaac's Solo Cello Recital - Addie as Guest Artist

After months and hours of practicing, Isaac finally completed Suzuki Book 3.  He gave a solo cello recital where he performed 10 pieces, 8 of them memorized.  He did an outstanding job.  It was quite an accomplishment and we are so proud of him and his efforts!

Here is a video of the final piece he played.  I think the smile on his face when it is over says it all!

Addie prepared an aria to sing at the beginning of the recital.  Here is the video of her singing, "O Mio Babbino Caro."

Crazy and Curious - Catch-up Posts from April

We made it through another "Crazy Hair Day!" Always happy to have that done with!

Our neighbor was kind enough to give us tickets to the preview of the Museum of Curiosity opening at Thanksgiving Point.  It was a riot!  I can't wait to take the kids back.  It is packed with learning and fun!

I thought this was such a cute idea!  This is a water table for babies.  I assume there will be a little sprinkler in the middle and just a small amount of water on the table for them to play in.  Fun!

Family Easter Dinner

Isaac took some wonderful Spring pictures that are the perfect introduction to my Easter post.

It only seemed appropriate for Cottontial to make an appearance.

Addie and Isaac set up the Easter egg hunt.

It was a feast!
The "younger generation" table.
My dad brought over some of the eggs from our original collection to add to the display.

Let the egg hunt begin!

Time for dessert - and no I did not get this idea from Pinterest!
White chocolate mousse with berries, a peep and edible grass.
Cute Courtney!

We finished off the day with a jam session - Isaac on the cello, Jake and Addie on the piano and Courtney, Addie and Cate singing.  Pretty talented kids!

Easter Egg Decorating

Continuing the tradition from when I was a child - we had a great time decorating eggs this year.
Here is the collection we have so far.
It's fun to see as the kids get older how they make more elaborate designs.

Wes is always one of the last ones to come up with his design - but it is always amazing!  (Just like his Halloween pumpkins.)
Addie's egg
Isaac's egg
Got to get a close up of those skis!
Cate made two eggs - a bride...
And a girl in a snowball fight.

Sarah also made two eggs - one with a cheetah design (very appropriate)
And a little chick sitting on an egg in a nest.
My egg catching some rays in his hammock.

Weston's egg - a lovely monarch.

Happy Easter!
