The book fair

I volunteered at the book fair yesterday at the kid's school. I love to look at the books and think it's kind of fun to run the cash register :-)
Anyway, I ran across this book from Real Simple - Celebrations. For $24.95 I couldn't find reason enough to buy it but I thought it had some really fun ideas for throwing parties. Ideas for baby showers, cheese and bread parties, holiday open houses, summer, BBQ's. Ideas for decorations, invitations, food, and party favors. Some things were better than others but most were simple and memorable. I wish I would have written some down. The Real Simple website has a PDF excerpt from the book.
The other book I liked - and I did actually buy this one as my annual addition to our children's Christmas books collection - is Russell's Christmas Magic. I guess this isn't the first of Russell the sheep's adventures, but the illustrations are delightful. I didn't even finish reading the story - but this adorable sheep brought a smile to my face.

Love those book recommendations. I especially want to check out the Real Simple one.
